Providing cost effective and efficient care is one of our goals. In most cases we can identify the main clinical concern in about an hour and begin a course of action. The follow up visits can be used to refine the diagnosis and make adjustments as needed.
Psychiatric medication management and therapy is an art. It requires addressing all substances that can change ones mood while ruling out medical causes including psychiatric issues. We look at over the counter remedies, medications prescribed by Western and Eastern doctors, recreational drugs and alcohol. This biological information is then woven into the psychological and social triad that can inform a plan to create a foundation for mental health. Our practice is a conservative one. We are cautious with medications that can cause dependence and use them only when medically necessary. We also do not prescribe medications that are outside of our scope of practice.
To insure that our patients have the time and attention they need, Performance Psychiatry remains a small practice with limited openings.
